The property comprises two renovated houses, one of which is a traditional Bulgarian House with all the original beams but updated to a modern standard. The other is a a large renovated stone barn used as a holiday home for friends & family. The large property contains a 12m x 5m x 1.5m swimming pool, outside shower & toilet for the pool, outside bar, traditional Summer Kitchen / BBQ area with storage, fire pit, purpose built dog kennel, large renovated stone barn (which can be used as a workshop/garage or stable), water well and two large enclosed grassed areas. It is located in the picturesque mountain village of Slaveykovo, 12 km from Dryanovo and 35 km southeast from Veliko Turnovo. The village is small but well organised and easily accessible on a good asphalt road with a bar/shop open a few days a week. It is situated in the foothills of central Stara Planina Mountains and offers beautiful views.
Both houses are two-storey fully insulated solid stone and wood built, with original beams with a southern orientation. All the windows are double glazed PVC. The water in the main house can be heated by the solar panel during the summer, or by the kamena. Satellite dishes and Wifi have been installed in both buildings and the main house also has air conditioning / inverters (heating) in 2 of the bedrooms and the lounge, with radiators throughout.
The main house is situated at the north-western part of the property and the building area is approximately 188 sq m over two floors. The ground floor comprises an open plan kitchen with dining area, a stone fireplace with a fireplace. Situated on this floor there are two bedrooms (one of which is currently being used as an office), a large bathroom, which includes a bath, shower, sink and toilet. The beautiful stone stairs lead up to the first floor where there is a spacious living room with an independent fireplace (petchka). The corridor leads to two beautiful big bedrooms, one of which has an origianl stone fireplace and the other has its own dressing area. This floor has a shower room, including toilet and sink. The large terrace looks to the south and south-east from which there is a beautiful view towards the hills, fields and mountains.
The second house is located at the northern part of the plot and its building area is approximately 120 sq m over two floors. The ground floor comprises two spacious bedrooms, a shower room with sink and toilet, and an entrance lobby. The internal staircase leads to the first floor where there is a spacious open plan living room, diner and kitchen. The panoramic windows along the whole building look onto a south-orientated terrace. All floors (in both buildings) are either laminate or terracotta tiles. The kitchen in the holiday home has been custom-made with a mini gas hob, fridge and a microwave / grill, with a small boiler under the sink. The main boiler is situated under the stairs.
The whole plot size is 2,128 sq m. The gardens are very well maintained and the pool is surrounded with stone paving (plotchi). There are two grass covered self-contained paddock areas, with a small orchard in one and a small vegetable garden in the other but both areas could be used for a horse/s.
The nearest town to Slaveykovo is Dryanovo - a small town 25 km south-west of Veliko Turnovo and 20 km the regional centre Gabrovo. Gabrovo is a great place to visit and shop with a number of attractions in and around it, including restaurants and bars. The mountain routes start from Gabrovo leading to the Bulgarka nature park and to Uzana ski area, located 25 km from the Gabrovo centre. The ruins of the old Roman fortress "Diskoduratera" are located approximately a ten minute walk away, near the River Yantra.
