The house is located in the small village of Butovo on the Danube plain in north central Bulgaria. In the summer the village is surrounded by fields of Sunflowers for as far as the eye can see.
Only a 10 minute drive from the upcoming market town of Pavlikeni and 40 minutes from the ancient city of Veliko Tărnovo.
The capital of Sofia and the airport is a 2 hour drive away, or you can be on the beach at the Black Sea or in the mountains skiing within a 2 hour drive as well.
The village itself has a Post Office, Train station, library, theatre 3 bars and 2 shops.
The population of the village is approx 700 people with many other residents from other European countries living here permanently including from the U.K.
The locals are very friendly and all residents are welcomed into the village life, be it joining the village dancing group learning traditional dancing or the successful village football team. There are also many different village events throughout the year like dinner dances in the village hall or sports days on the football field in the summer.
One of the oldest Roman pottery factories in Eastern Europe was discovered nearby in the 1980’s and is now a tourist centre.
There are many beautiful attractions nearby including Caves and waterfalls and the Danube river can be reached with a 50 minute drive.
